Dr. Deng's research spans many areas of statistics including the interface between design of experiments and machine learning, modeling and analysis of data with complex structures, the design and analysis of experiments, computer experiments and uncertainty quantification. He is interested in applying statistical methods to nanotechnology and other emerging areas. Deng has also worked on modeling the degradation of scaffold for the Tissue-engineering scaffold fabrication. Within the context of CTE, he collaborates with Padma Rajagopalan on the design of experiments to study the effects of mixtures of environmental chemicals and drugs on bioengineered liver systems.
